‘Shark Tank’ judge Aman Gupta reveals that he failed six jobs before the ship

STAGE was able to secure investment from three Shark Tank India judges.

BoAt Lifestyle co-founder and famous Shark Tank India judge Aman Gupta recently shared parts of his own entrepreneurial journey and recalled how he had to go through six failed businesses to finally find success with his electronics brand. Mr. Gupta shared the post on Twitter, advising his fellow entrepreneurs not to let setbacks hold them back and keep fighting.

“We all face setbacks in life. I’ve been down there too, more times than you can imagine. But when you hit rock bottom, there’s only one way out – up. Keep trying, the day you stop trying is the day you fail,” Gupta tweeted, adding, “Inspired by the spirit of such entrepreneurs and people with such spirit.”

Aman Gupta also shared a short video on Shark Tank India Season 2 where he told the founder of content platform STAGE that the nation needs people like them.

“India needs people like you.” I’ll tell you why. Many entrepreneurs in India fail, but to rise from that and make a 300 crore company is amazing. How do you feel? Am I right or wrong?” he said.

Hearing this, the founders of the startup company nodded their heads. Mr. Gupta then revealed, “Six of my businesses failed and that’s when the ship was built.”

He further told the founders of STAGE, “You have built a Rs 300 crore company. I believe you are the hope of an entrepreneur. They will look at you and say, ‘Boss jab gir ke banda Rs 300 crore ki company bana sakta hai na to isse jiaada kuch nahi chahiie (Boss when a person can make a Rs 300 crore company despite a crash, then he doesn’t need anything else) . I don’t just give money. I am doing it for India.”

Vinay Kumar Singhal, Parveen Singhal and Shashank Vaishnav launched their unique OTT app STAGE, which broadcasts content in Indian dialects. The trio managed to secure investment from not one but three Shark Tank India judges – Piyush Bansal, Namitha Thapar and Aman Gupta.
