Musk tears into ‘satanic’ ESG as World Economic Forum meets to discuss controversial investment regime

On Sunday, Elon Musk gave his thoughts on the World Economic Forum’s plans to incorporate “environmental, social and governance” or ESG criteria into its investment strategy, saying the “S” should stand for something else.

“The S in ESG is Satanic,” the Twitter executive tweeted.

The tweet was in response to author and former California gubernatorial candidate Michael Shellenberger, who posted a series of tweets about the launch of the WEF summit in Davos and rumors that the group is seeking global dominance.

Shellenberger tweeted that the WEF and its founder Klaus Schwab are fighting back against those who say they seek global dominance through a “grand reset” that could strip masses of private property, deindustrialize the economy and force everyone to eat bugs.

He highlighted a statement from a WEF spokesman in August, who said: “‘Own nothing, be happy’ – you may have heard the phrase… It started as a screenshot, collected from the internet by an anonymous anti-Semitic account on the image board 4chan . ‘Own Nothing, Be Happy – The Jewish World Order 2030’…”

Shellenberger said the spokesperson’s statement was incorrect and that the phrase “Own nothing, be happy” came from the VEF website, not 4chan.

He also explained in tweets that the WEF could hardly be considered a conspiracy, stating that Davos is “one of the most widely publicized events in the world” and attracts celebrities, world leaders and billionaires.

Schellenberger said the VEF has proven to be very secretive, and when the public asked the VEF how the Klaus Schwab Foundation invests its assets, a spokesman said: “Swiss law does not require financial reporting for foundations.

“VEF says its wealth is managed by an internal Investment Committee that seeks to incorporate ‘environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria into its investment strategy to manage the foundation’s long-term strategic reserves,'” Shellenberger tweeted.

Then Musk tweeted that the “S” in ESG stood for Satanic.
